Maddow, Stewart, and the writing/ creating crew of their television programs are critical thinkers because of their active role in dealing with the media. They take on a reflective nature, carefully examining each point of interest regarding any particular political debate or social clashing point. As they are part of the media, they add that reflectivity and recursive thought process to the public opinion forum.
