Art, Entertainment, Entropy
The author’s arguments about entertainment media in “Art, Entertainment, Entropy” are that people are relying on what they see rather than thinking and interpreting things. He mentions that people do not know what they like anymore because the media has taken that right away from us by showing whatever they want and expecting people to like what they see without the need to appreciate and analyze any part of the show or film. This relates to newer interactive entertainment media like youtube, Facebook, and Twitter because all of these networks are very straightforward and do not require anything creative that will get people to really think about what they are seeing or doing. He also mentions that art explains, while entertainment exploits, meaning that entertainment gives what we want without requiring any thinking from our behalf.
